Quality is our top priority. Our tallow is sourced from a local, small regenerative ranch, where highland cattle are grass-fed and finished. We have a direct relationship with the ranchers, ensuring our tallow is not purchased online or in bulk. Additionally, we source all herbs from our local apothecary and farms to support small businesses and promote sustainable practices.

Our formulations have evolved from using essential oils to incorporating herbs. During the dry rendering process, we add the herbs, allowing the tallow to slowly absorb their benefits before straining.

All our products incorporate jojoba oil. Jojoba oil is rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals, and is known for its proven benefits, including its ability to deeply hydrate, balance oil production, and soothe dry or irritated skin. It absorbs quickly, helping to restore skin's natural moisture balance without clogging pores.

The entire process of creating whipped tallow takes about 3-4 days for each batch. Rendering tallow is both an art and a labor of love, which is why we never rush any step to ensure the final product retains its full nutrient density.

After much trial and error, we've determined that dry rendering is the optimal method for skincare, as it better preserves tallow's natural properties. In contrast, wet rendering uses salt and water to "remove impurities" and eliminate the beefy odor, resulting in a white, odorless product. However, this process changes the fatty acid profile, diminishes the nutrient content and leaves a possibility of mold contamination.
