Bare Roots was created in 2023 shortly after my second pregnancy.

I travelled often between Texas + Colorado and found that my skin changed between the hot and dry climates. I tried all of the natural, non-toxic creams + lotions but nothing would help my dry chapped hands + face or my itchy growing belly. It wasn’t until a friend suggested I try a tallow balm that I finally felt lasting relief. 

Fast forward to my son being born + the constant travel back + forth, he too began having dry, chapped skin around the folds of his arms + legs. I then reached out to local ranchers to learn about tallow + its benefits as well as local apothecaries + herb farms to see how I could source locally to support small businesses.

What began as a passion project to help my family grew into a beautiful brand. I am so grateful for your interest + support.
